"Flower for Elsie" is a dye floral I painted for inclusion in the Kravet 100 Anniversary contest. My painting tied for second place. Not too shabby!
I started out with photos I took at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and elsewhere. I did rough sketches trying to work out the forms I wanted to depict.
In progress. This painting took approximately 35 hours to complete.
